TRENTON - Joseph Alexander MacKinnon, age 64, of Trenton, passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016 at home.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late William and Christine (MacDonald) MacKinnon. He was retired from NSLC. He was a member of the former Christ the King Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1667.
He is survived by sons, Jarrod, Avondale and John (Natasha), Avondale; grandchildren, Jessica, Emma-Lee, John Jarrod and Hannah; sister, Nina J. MacDonald (Jerome), New Glasgow and special cousin Jackie MacDonald.
He was predeceased by his wife Audrey Copan, son, Joseph and brother, James.
Visitation 7-9 pm Wednesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton. A Funeral Mass will be held 11 am Thursday, in Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow, with Father Tom MacNeil officiating. Burial in Christ the King Cemetery at a later date.
Donations in his memory may be made to Addiction Services.
Knights of Columbus will meet at the funeral home at 6:45 pm Wednesday to conduct their service.
