Tattrie, Marguerite Laura, age 85, of Truro and formerly of North River, passed away peacefully, Monday, December 12, 2016 at Cedarstone Enhanced Care Truro. Born in North River, she was a daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Mingo) Blair. Marguerite was a very loving, outgoing, vibrant person, who was loved by all who knew her. She was well known as the Singer Sewing Lady. She loved bowling, bingo, her scratch tickets, and dancing, especially the polka, which in fact she was doing just 3 weeks ago. She is survived by her husband, Floyd Tattrie, North River; son, Ken (Gail) Murray, Dartmouth; sister, Kathleen Fells, Alberta; step-sons, Stephen Tattrie (Debbie), Garry Tattrie, Alberta, Terry Tattrie (Judy), Robert Tattrie, Bedford; grandchildren, Laura, Jennifer, Renee, Shawna, Brad, Aric, Ally, Ben; 12 great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren, Jason, Dexter, Jessica, Sarah, Candace, Jamie; many step-great-grandchildren; She was predeceased by her first husband, Cecil Murray; daughter, Kathy MacKenzie; several sisters and brothers. Visitation will be held 7 ~ 9 pm Thursday, December 15, and funeral service 2 pm Friday, December 16, all in the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro, Rev. John Parsons officiating, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marguerite’s memory may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Nova Scotia.
