JACK FARRELL

February 19, 1922 - December 9, 2016
Jack Farrell was born at Fraser Mills Townsite, BC February 19, 1922 and passed away peacefully December 9, 2016 in Sechelt, BC. Jack grew up in the Coquitlam area. At age 19 he joined the Armed Forces and served his country. Shortly after his discharge he met and married Lou, his wife of 69 years. He moved his family to Madeira Park in 1974 and started a log scaling business. In the logging community Farrell Log Service operated for many years and gained a reputation for honesty and reliability. At age 65 years, Jack retired from the logging industry, moved his family to Middlepoint to a 11.5 acre piece of paradise. This was a dream come true for Jack, he loved the forest; there was a creek on the property where Jack and his dog spent much of their time. Jack loved his big garden and developed a passion for walking. He was well known for walking along the hwy with his dog giving a big wave to everyone that drove by. To this day people say "Oh I remember him!" He loved music and family gatherings where he often played the spoons to any tune, he was an artist and a poet who embraced nature.
Jack was a proud father, grand and great-grandfather. Predeceased by his daughter Marilyn, brother Glenn and sister Caroline. Jack leaves behind his wife Lou, sons Mark (Shirley), Barry (Kerri), Kevin (Lisa) and daughter Val, grandchildren Jack (Andrea), Ingrid (Brian), Chelsey (Milo), Brandon (Bella), Kaitlyn and Sean and great-grandchildren Chase, Sage, Maddison and Lily.
