With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Bernice Steele, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister at Pleasant View Towers on December 16, 2016, a former resident of Blackmarsh Road. Bernice was predeceased by only son Douglas, husband Doug, parents Martin and Mary Dunphy, parents-in-law Overton and Myrtle Steele, brother Tom and sisters-in-law: Ruby Tizzard (George-deceased) and Ruth Cook. She leaves to mourn daughters: Karen Gulliver (Sean) and Annette Eason (Sandy Clarke); grandchildren who thought the world of their nana: Parker, Jaxson and Raygan Gulliver and Bradley and Blake Eason; son-in-law Bert Eason; brothers: Paddy (Helen-deceased), Paul (Karen) and David; sisters: Marg Jensen (Gene-deceased), Ann Voss (Kuno-deceased) and Paulette Sellars; sisters-in-law Marge Motter (Jerry-deceased), Kay Parsons (Gil), Glenda McKinney (Terry), Sandra Dale (Gar-deceased) and Judy Dunphy; brothers-in-law: Bill Steele (Gwen) and Ron Cook, many nieces and nephews, especially niece Charlene Metcalfe and family friend Connie Williams. Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Pleasant View Towers for their care and compassion for mom during her stay. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Sunday, December 18th from 1-4 pm and 6-9 pm. Funeral service to take place on Monday, December 19th at 2 pm from Barrett's Funeral Chapel.
