BLANCHE ELIZABETH STRICKLAND
December 13, 1926 – December 18, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Blanche Elizabeth Strickland (nee Roberts) announces her passing on Sunday, December 18, at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 90 years. Born in Hermitage NL, Blanche was the daughter of the late Thomas and Edith Roberts. She was predeceased by her husband Garnet, son Robert, brother Hartley (Eva) Roberts, sisters; Ivy (Philip) Sheaves, Effie (Harold) Rose and many brothers and sisters in law. She leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories her loving sons; Garnet Wayne Strickland Codroy Valley, Wesley Strickland Stephenville, Danny Strickland (Kim) Halifax NS. A proud grandmother and great grandmother she will be sadly missed by her grandchildren; Brent (Susan), Jillian (Tyler), Carlee (Chris), Christa (Marty), Alicia (Trevor), Danielle (Frank), great grandchildren; Lincoln, Ryder, Chelsea, Dylan, Izabella, Amber. She will be fondly remembered by sister in law Dorothy Sheaves Port aux Basques, her three special friends Jessie Collier, Dorothy Law, Irene Billard all of Port aux Basques and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation took place, Dec, 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. Funeral services taking place December 20, 3 pm at St. James Anglican Church, Channel officiated by Rev. Marlene Harvey, interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in memory of Blanche can be made to the charity of one's choice.
