We, the family of Gordon Alexander ``Gordie`` Sullivan, regret to announce his passing on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born June 17, 1943, in Sydney, Gordie was a son of the late William and Clara (Brewer) Sullivan.
He was employed in the produce department at the Atlantic Superstore and a member of St. Mary`s parish, Frenchvale. Gordie is survived by his wife, Anne (Gouthro); daughters, Shauna (Christopher) Sullivan, New Glasgow, Tracy (Kenneth) Oakley, Sydney and Dana (Eric) Milley, Halifax; sisters, Sharon Rideout and Marlene (Terry) MacCallum, Sydney, Darlene (Eric) Peters, PEI, Janet (Tony) Corbett and Lorraine (Lawrence) Colburne, Sydney; brothers, Billy, Everett and Patty, Sydney; grandchildren, Tyler, Logan, Morgan, Dylan, Justin and Emma; great-granddaughter, Kylee. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Michael. Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, December 28 from 3-7 p.m.
Funeral mass will be held at St. Mary`s Church, Frenchvale on Thursday 11 a.m., with Rev. Paul Abbass officiating. Interment in New Calvary Cemetery.
