David Harris
Harris, David Alexander-50 of Bedford/Welshtown, born July 18, 1966 at Roseway Hospital in Sandy Point to Alexander (Sandy) Harris and Donna (Higgens) Harris, devoted father, everloving son, amazing brother and faithful friend, passed away suddenly on January 4, 2017. David grew up here in Welshtown and loved his home town of Shelburne and the people in it. Although he made his home in Bedford, his heart remained in our little community which he continued to support in many ways. He was known to many for his love of music and poetry. He attended Maritime Ranger School in Fredericton and upon graduation landed a job at Marwood Limited in Brookfield, Nova Scotia where he worked for 25 years until his untimely death. He was part owner and Vice President of sales and loved his work. He leaves, with broken hearts, his beloved daughters, Katya and Anna, his mother, Donna; sisters, Lori and Gina; brother Stephen, grandmother Regina; loving partner, Susan; nieces, Felicia, Mackenzie and Alexandria; nephews, Brady, Trevor and Thatcher as well as many aunts, uncles and friends. David was predeceased by his father, Sandy, grandfathers, Donald L Higgens Sr. and Milton Harris; grandmother, Edith (Rhyno) Harris; uncles David Higgens, Donald Higgens Jr. and Jerry Harris, and his best friend and cousin, Shawn O’Donnell. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes & Crematorium Ltd. Visitation took place on Monday, January 9th. from 7-9 p.m. in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. A funeral mass was held on Tuesday, January 10 at 11 a.m. in St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church, Shelburne with Father Keith Billard officiating. Interment in St. Thomas Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
