In his 100th year Alder Eric Large, of Wilmot Valley, passed away peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Friday, January 13, 2017. Born in Wilmot Valley, he was the son of the late Reuben and Ada (Moase) Large. Devoted husband of 60 years to the late Janet Bell (Sinclair) Large (2000). Proud father of Pauline (Greg) Deighan, Summerside; and adored grandfather of grandchildren Graham (Kim) Deighan, Sharon (Todd) Schurman, Carolyn (Mike) Gauthier and Craig (Heather) Deighan. Great-grandfather of Brett, Cody and Paige Deighan; Bray and Lydia Schurman; Sydney and Payton Gauthier; and Thomas, Tanner and Cooper Deighan. Brother-in-law of Lorraine Sinclair and special uncle of Coleen Holmes and several other nieces and nephews. Alder cared deeply about his family, farming and community. Alder loved working the land and caring for his animals. He was a faithful member of the Baptist Church. Predeceased by his sister and brothers-in-law Marguerite (Alden) Small, Norman Sinclair and James Sinclair. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Sunday, then to the Summerside Baptist Church for funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment in Peoples Cemetery, Summerside.
