It is with sadness we announce the passing of Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Gerard Robinson, age 61, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in North Sydney on September 29, 1955, Ronnie was the son of the late Fredell and Ethel (Hatcher) Robinson. Ronnie worked for many years in Ontario where he was employed as a printer in graphic art design. He enjoyed fishing, biking and listening to country music. Ronnie was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Chris Diamant), Ottawa; his two grandchildren, Connor and Carter; his siblings, Walter (Cathy) Robinson, Alex Robinson, both of North Sydney, Joe (Diana) Robinson, Cleveland, Ohio, Bonnie Robinson, Sydney, Cora (Ron) Shaw, Bras d’Or, Naomi (Lawrence) Boutilier, North Sydney, Janie Robinson (Roger Quirk), North Sydney and by his many nieces and nephews. Beside his parents, Fredell and Ethel, Ronnie was predeceased by his brothers, Fred, Leo, Clayton, Jackie and Danny and his niece, Andrea Robinson. Special thank you to the Northside Community Guest Home, the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Emergency Department, the ICU and the An Cala Palliative Care Unit, we will never forget your kindness. Visitation for Ronnie will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. A funeral mass will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney at a later date.
