Egerton - Henry Vicmore Richard, age 78, of Egerton, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in New Glasgow, he lived his entire life in Egerton and he was a son of the late Edward and Eva (Murphy) Richard.
He was a former employee of Williams Saw Mill, Barney’s River. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Br. 35 Westville and a member of the former Saint Andrews Roman Catholic Church, Egerton.
He is survived by his children: Muriel Gillis; Elizabeth Stewart; Joseph Richard; Brenda Priest (Fred); 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; brothers: Kenny; Joe; Clifford; Cecil; sister, Mary Beniot; 4 nieces; 1 nephew; 4 great-nephews; 8 great-nieces; 5 great great-nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine Elizabeth Gillis; several brothers and sisters. Visitation 7-9 pm Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday, in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow. Funeral mass 10 am Monday in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Lismore, with Fr. Charles Cameron officiating. Burial will be in Saint Andrew’s Cemetery.
