Passed suddenly away while vacationing in Vietnam on Monday, January 23, 2017. Roland Delaney age 51 years. It is with an overwhelming sadness that we have to say goodbye to a truly remarkable man, a fiercely loyal and devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. Roland's time on this Earth with us was cruelly cut short, yet at the same time he lived with such an intensity and passion that his life and heart was full. Our loss is deep, but our love was, and is infinite. Predeceased by his father: William Delaney, whom remained, even in death a source of strength and everlasting inspiration. Leaving to mourn his "beautiful" wife of 22 years, his soul mate and best friend Deborah (nee Stead), his cherished daughters and the light of his life Rachel and Megan; loving mother Millie (nee Williams); brothers: John (Paula) and Brian (Sharon); sisters: Gail Delaney, Brenda (Keith) Mullett, Linda (Ken) Howlett, Yvonne (Harry) Hodder, and Donna (Dale predeceased) Linthorne; father and mother-in-law: Lawrence and Maxene Stead; many nephews, nieces, extended family members and in-laws. To his many friends, you brought such fun and humour to his life. A special heartfelt thank you to Blair Vokey and Stephen Collins for being with him on his farewell adventure and I'm sure having had many laughs along the way. For all who knew Roland, Thursdays will forever be his day. He loved you all. Visitation will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave. on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. A private funeral service for family and close friends will be held at a later date.
