At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, on Thursday, February 16, 2017, the death occurred of Vernon Joseph "Vern" Cassidy, of Charlottetown, age 84 years. Vernon was a Korean War Veteran. He is survived by his beloved partner Barbara MacDonald; son Greg (Deb) Cassidy; daughter Janne Cassidy; grandchildren Rachael, Celeste and Delaney; great grandchildren Hunter and Hayzel; brother Mike Cassidy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sons Bradley, Christopher and Shawn Cassidy. Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home where a private family funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel. Interment will take place at a later date in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. Donations in memory of Vern may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
