Lowthers, Ilene Winona, Age 88 of Three Mile Plains, Hants County, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017 in the Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born on April 23, 1928 in Scotch Village, Hants County. She was a daughter of the late Loren Macumber and Mabel (Collard) (Macumber) Parker. In earlier years Ilene worked at the Nova Scotia Textiles; in the kitchen at the Payzant Memorial Hospital; after that she did housework for various families along with being a full time wife and mother to her family. She loved music, dancing, social events and gatherings. Surviving are sons, Ken (Susan), Three Mile Plains; David (Patty), Newport Station; daughters, Betty (Eric) Johnson, Windsor; Doreen (John) Cole, Morton, Kings County; Donna (Jim) Thibodeau, Upper Sackville; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; half-brother, Owen Parker, Scotch Village; sister-in-law, Rosalie Macumber, Windsor. Predeceased by her husband, Murray; son, Donald “Donnie”; sisters, Violet (age 6); Dorothy “Dot” Dillman; brothers, Howard, Ralph, Robert “Bob”, Alvin; step-father, Frank Parker. Visitation was held 6-8 Tuesday, February 21, 2017in the Lindsay Windsor Funeral Home (902-798-2232), 194 King Street, Box 2218, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0. Memorial service was held 2 pm Wednesday, February 22, 2017 in the Lindsay Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, Windsor. Rev. Tom Henderson officiated. Burial was in Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix. Donations in memory were requested to be made to the Lodge That Gives or Dykeland Lodge Seniors Bus Fund.
