Passed peacefully away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre, Gerald Maxwell Stratton at the age of 86. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife Evelyn (Ettie); four sons: Wayne (Pat), Rick (Rose), Jim and Frank; 10 grandchildren: Jimmy, David, Scott, Amanda, Dale, Sara, Ben, Daniel, Emma, Stephanie; six great-grandchildren: Isabel, Lillah Jayne, Emily, Jacob, Jane, Sam; brother Carl (Clarice); sisters-in-law: Florence Stratton, Mona Piercey and Doreen Anderson; as well a large circle of nieces and nephews, other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents James and Mary Stratton; brothers Stewart, Cecil, Chesley, Ron; sister Nina Wicks. Special thank you to the caring staff of Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre, Blue Berry Ward and Dr. Morris. We would also like to thank Percy Lilly for being such a caring friend. We are so grateful to all of you for your concern and kindness. The funeral service will be held Sunday, February 26th at 2:30 pm at Humber United Church, Clarence Street with Reverend Jocelyn Cook officiating, followed by the interment at Mt. Patricia Cemetery.
