TRENTON - Mary Elizabeth (Chisholm) Pace.
Mary Pace, age 96 years, passed away at Glen Haven Manor on Saturday, February 25, 2017.
Born July 20, 1920 in Antigonish, she was a daughter of the late Malcolm Ross and Catherine (Cockerhill) (Ross) MacKenzie, of Barney's River. Prior to moving to Glen Haven Manor in 2009, Mary lived in Riverton and Trenton.
She was predeceased by her first husband, John Bevan Chisholm; son, John “Buddy”; grandson, Johnny Dickson; second husband, Howard Pace; brothers: Alfred Ross, Harold Ross, John Ross, Fred Ross and George Ross; sisters: Margaret Campbell, Kaye Bigney and Carol Kuretski.
She is survived by daughters: Joan Dickson, New Glasgow; Eileen (Laurence) Foote, Pine Tree; sons: Henry (Shannon) Toner, Black Point, Gerald Chisholm, New Glasgow; sisters: Edith Ball, Ottawa, Hazel Clark, Indiana; sisters-in-law: Olive Ross, Violet Ross and Joyce Ross; grandchildren: Bob Foote, Kenneth (Diane) Foote, Janet Foote (Mike Burge), Angie (Pierre) LeGresley, Stacy (Jerome) Breau, Craig (Raye) Dickson, Rayann Toner, Ryan Toner (Dale MacEachern), John Ross Chisholm, Christene Chisholm; twelve great grandchildren: Robyn Foote (Chad Thompson), Shelby Foote (Pete Jenkins), Hayley Foote (Melissa French), Troy Foote, Tyler Foote, Dylan Campbell, Marley Burge, Joseé LeGresley, Sophie LeGresley, Gabrielle Breau, Alex Breau and Wesley Dickson.
Mary was a wonderful homemaker all her life, a great cook who always had the teapot on. She belonged to the Steeltown Friendly Group, Trenton. She was an avid card player, loved knitting and fiddle music. Church was always a big part of her life.
The family are very appreciative of the care their mother received at Glen Haven Manor, with many thanks to the Recreation Staff. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, High St., Trenton. Funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday in First United Church Hall, Trenton, with Rev. Wade Reppert officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Reception to follow. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to First United Church, Trenton or the Glen Haven Manor Recreation Fund.
