Bill was born on September 26, 1932 in Kemptville, ON to the late James and Theresa (Milne) Leach. He passed peacefully on February 12, 2017 at Chilliwack General Hospital, Chilliwack, BC surrounded by his loving family.

He was a member of the RCMP, stationed in Summerside, PE, when he met his future wife, Roma Gallant of Wellington, PE. He later joined the Canadian Armed Forces (Air Force) where he served until he retired in 1988.

He was dearly loved in life and will be sadly missed by his wife of almost 60 years, Roma (Gallant), sons Jim, Steve (Diana - deceased), Doug (Donna), daughter Debbie Leach, grandchildren Julie, Michelle, Duncan Leach, sister-in-law Pauline (James) McClean, brother-in-laws Robert (Alice) Gallant, Grant (Karen) Gallant, Dennis Gallant (Dr. Monica McNeill), and many nieces and nephews who thought of him as the "gentle giant" from infancy to teens and even as adults.

He was predeceased by his newborn daughter, Victoria, as well as his parents and daughter-in-law.

Cremation took place at McLean's Funeral Services Ltd., Chilliwack, BC. By Bill's request there will be no funeral. Interment at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic church, Wellington, PE and a celebration of his life in Maximeville, PE will take place at a later date.

If desired, donations may be made in Bill's honour to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Kidney Foundation.
