Alastair Stewart Hewitt
Date de naissance : 14 décembre 1953
Date de décès : 25 mars 2017
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Alastair Hewitt of Sop's Arm announce his sudden passing on February 25th, 2017 at the age of 63. Alastair was a very hard working man his entire life. His family was his world and he was always a steady hand one could count on. He had a large circle of friends, many of whom were made during his many years of working within the Carpenter's Union. The countless phone calls and messages from fellow past and present co-workers solidifies what type of man he truly was. He will be terribly missed by those who loved him and knew him. His death has left a void that could never be filled. Left to Mourn are his family, son Shane Hewitt (Sharon); daughter Jody Hewitt (Rodney); his adored granddaughters Emma, Tiffani, Sara and Shaylah; brothers James Hewitt (Golda), Ian Hewitt (Judy), Hugh Hewitt (Geraldine), Colin Hewitt (Sheila); sisters Margaret Ford (Boyce) and Rosemary Hewitt; partner Betty Laing Lacosta. Also left to mourn are a number of cherished nieces and nephews as well as the large circle of friends within the communities and all the friends he made along the way. Alastair was predeceased by his beloved wife Pauline Hewitt; father Arthur Hewitt; mother Mary Hewitt and sister Veronica Hewitt. Fillatre's Funeral Home in Deer Lake will be open to family and friends on Friday, March 3rd between the hours of 1-5 pm for those wishing to say their goodbyes. Cremation to follow with the Church Service being held Saturday, March 4th at St. Bartholomews Anglican Church in Jackson's Arm at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers/other donations, the family asks that a donation be made directly to Daffodil Place in St. John's in honor of his late and cherished wife Pauline.
"Goodbyes hurt the most when the story was not finished."
