Passed away Friday March 3, 2017 at the Health Science Center, St. John's William Nelson Wells at the age of 98 years. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 73 years Mary Mercedes; children: Monica Wells (Rick), Randy Wells (Joan), Deborah Wells Smith (David), Rosemary Bartlett (David); grandchildren Terri-Lynne Wells, Jeffrey Wells (Trina), Matthew Wells, Victoria Wells Smith, Josiah Bartlett, Grace Wells Smith; great-grandchildren: Rebecca King, Emma King, Michael Normore Wells, Harrison Wells; sister Georgina Curtis (Max); sisters-in-law Mary Park (James), Lillian Wells; as well as numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents James and Alice; siblings: Bertha, Benjamin, Robert, Stephen, Jessie, Kittie and Tossie (Alice), great-grandchild Kai Barron. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home 218 Curling street Tuesday from 7-9 pm and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, March 9th at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, Curling Street with Father Don Leonard officiating, followed by the interment at Mt. Patricia Cemetery.
