The death occurred peacefully, with family by his side, at the Kings County Memorial Hospital on March 10, 2017 of Bert Harris, Murray Harbour. Age 86. Lovingly remembered by his wife, Pauline; sons Marty (Donna), Gordie (Sherry), and Shane (Dena). Remembered by grandchildren Shannon, Justin, Ryan, Dean, Calvin, Matt, Shamah, Avmeria; great-grandchildren Liam and Cassidy. Survived by brother, Ronnie (Lorna); sister Annie (Sheldon) Bell; brothers-in-law Keith Havill, Lyle Gordon and Alden Gordon; and sister-in-law Lillian Harris. Predeceased by parents Louis and Zetty (Beck) Harris; siblings Jim, Minnie Beck, Louis, William, Fred, George, Johnny, and Beth; and sister-in-law Yvonne Moak. Bert is remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends, who all had a special place in his heart. Resting at Southern Kings & Queens Funeral Home for visitation on March 22 from 3-5 p.m. Funeral service to be held from the Funeral Home Chapel on March 23 at 2 p.m. Interment later in the Murray Harbour Cemetery. Donations may be made in Bert’s memory to the Murray Harbour Cemetery.
