Dr. Ian Holmes, 80 of the Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck, NS passed away April 3, 2017 at the Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck NS.
Born in Great Britain he was the son of the late John Leslie and Isabel (Bruce) Holmes.
He was a member of the Rotary Club of Sydney, St. Andrew’s Lodge of Sydney and the Canadian Orthopaedic Association.
He is survived by his son, Andrew (Linda); daughter, Anne and four grandchildren, Jennifer, Alison, John and Bryn. Besides his parent he is predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Blyth.
Visitation will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Grant St., Baddeck, Friday April 7th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday April 8, 2017 with Rev. Brian MacLeod officiating. Burial will held in Know Cemetery, Baddeck Bay.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Bible Society or Dalhousie Medical Foundation.
