Patricia ‘Theresa’ Organ

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Theresa Organ, age 82, on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in La Poile, NL, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Norman Organ and Rena Rosabelle Taylor. Theresa was a devoted wife and mother, the central figure in the family, who prided herself as their caregiver. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time working in her yard.
She was a member of St. Matthew Wesley United Church in North Sydney.
Theresa is survived by her five children, Don (Kim) Organ, Halifax, Elaine Ongo, Dartmouth, Wayne and Craig Organ, North Sydney, Glen (Trina) Organ, Calgary; her six granddaughters, Erin, Nicole, Ainslie, Ashlan, Patricia and Emma; great granddaughter, Ava; two brothers, Don (Elsie) Organ, LaPoile, NL and Ralph (Effie) Organ, Port Aux Basques, NL; four sisters-in-law, Rose MacDonald, Ball’s Creek, Clara Bennett, Sydney Mines, Maude Miles, Cornerbrook, NL and Audrey Organ, Abbotsford, BC.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George Organ; three brothers, Harold, Henry, Gerald and two sisters, Florence, Olive.
Visitation for Theresa will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, at St. Matthew Wesley United Church, North Sydney, with Rev. Stephen Mills officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the NS Heart and Stroke Foundation, An Cala unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital or St. Matthew Wesley United Church.
