It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our father and grandfather Gerald Joseph Healey at 87 years of age. He has finally been blessed to join his son Kenneth, who died in 1972, and his loving wife Teresa, who died in 2009. Also predeceased by his parents Patrick and Mary; his brothers Jack, Pat and Peter (Louise); and his godchild, Frank Bruce. Leaving to mourn with precious memories are his children Pat (Annette), Terry (John Hart), Gerry (Lorraine), Debra (Shawna), Beth (John Howe), John (Gloria), Rosemarie (Harry Murphy), Al (Michelle), Kenneth (Mary) and loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his sisters Elizabeth McCue (James, d.), Mary Bruce (Pat), brother and friend Francis (Ellen, d.), sister-in-law, Evelyn Healey, cousin and friend Betty Barron, long time friend Richard Quilty and a large circle of family and friends. Gerald was a man of great faith and few complaints in life. He prayed the rosary everyday and always offered it up for someone other than himself. He was strong and humble and expected little fuss during his life. Our family would like to extend our utmost appreciation to the staff and management of the Beachside Manor. Visitation to take place on Sunday and Monday from 2pm to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial to take place 11am on Tuesday, May 2nd at Sacred Heart Church, Fox Harbour.
