Donald Alfred MacPherson, 73, Picken Street, Westville passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow with his family by his side.
Born in New Glasgow on May 22, 1943, Donald was a son of the late Dan and Violet (Armstrong) MacPherson of Westville.
Donald was a heavy machine operator, first working with Jim Palmer and later with the Public Works Department for the Town of Westville until his retirement.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Rita (Bullock); daughters, Anna (Chuck MacKinnon); Donna Crosby (Lloyd); sons Donald; Jamie (Lindsay Tye); Barry (Amanda Gillis); nineteen grand children and nineteen great-grand children and sisters Mae O’Brien (John) and Janet Hilton (Tom). He will also be missed by six sisters-in-law and their families.
Donald was predeceased by an infant granddaughter Megan MacPherson.
There will be no visitation. A grave side service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 23 at St. Bee’s Cemetery, Westville with the Rev. Darlene Jewers officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. www.eaglesfuneralhome.ca
