(Ena) (nee Burton) Passed peacefully away at the Escasoni Complex on January 29, 2008, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's in her 82nd year. Predeceased by her parents, Genevieve (English) and Walter Burton; brothers: Kevin, Ron, Roger, Walter and her sister Geraldine Kavanaugh. Ena will be dearly missed by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, John (Jack) and her children: Paul, Virginia Davidson (Alan), Beverly Platellas (Elias) and Bernice Stansbury (Don); five grandchildren: Joshua and David Reeds, Lydia and Caleb Stansbury and Sean Davidson. Ena also leaves behind her dear sisters-in-law: Eileen Finch, Betty Whalen and Mercedes Burton; as well as nieces, nephews and a small circle of friends whose heart she touched. Many thanks to the wonderful nursing staff at Escasoni for the care they provided during her illness. Visitation in the James J. Hickey Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass in St. Edwards Church, Kelligrews on Friday, February 1, 2008 at 10 a.m. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, St. John's.
