Martin Philip Blackmore
(1944-2008) Sandy Cove, Eastport It is with deep sadness and regret that we announce the sudden passing of Martin in Fort McMurray, Alta. on April 16, 2008. Predeceased by parents Walter and Lucy Blackmore of Grand Falls-Windsor; beloved husband, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, son-in-law, cousin and special friend. Sadly missed by wife Sheila; mother-in-law, Anne Kelly of Grand Falls-Windsor; brothers David (friend Barbara), Grand Falls-Windsor; Anthony (Rosalie), Grand Falls-Windsor, and sons John, Christopher, Andrew, Paul; Brendan and daughters Lucy and Sarah of St. Phillips; sisters Judy (Gerry) Brockie, Harbour Grace and son Ian; Eleanor Jones and children Megan, John (Dawn) of St. John's; sisters-in-law Colleen Kelly (Terry Buckley), St. John's; Yvonne (Tom) Courtney and daughter Yolaunda, Grand Falls-Windsor; Dorothy (Robert) Ryan, U.S. and children Kelly-Shea and Matthew; Patricia (Kurt) Bigras of Calgary and children Serge and Bianca. The family wishes to acknowledge Martin's very special friends Bertha Matchim and Queenie of Sandy Cove, Eastport; Gord Lee (Dianne) of Happy Adventure; the large circle of friends of the Eastport Peninsula; former co-workers across Canada from Yukon to Labrador to St. John's. A sincere heartfelt acknowledgment to Sterling Crane and Waiward Steel Companies; their foreman Greg King ( Paulette) of Conception Bay; his co-workers at Albian Sands, Jack Pine site; and especially the families and the surviving co-workers with whom Martin worked on the Ocean Ranger.
