(1958 - 2008) It is with love and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Patrick into the hands of God on 26 April 2008, at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary, Alberta, following a noble and courageous battle with leukemia. Sadly missed by his beloved son Sean; former wife, life-long friend and loving mother of Sean, Anna-Marie; devoted parents Michael and Oula; loving brothers Conor (Carolyn), Mark (Caroline), Michael (Stella), Hugh (Diana), Brendan (Laura-Lee); nieces and nephews Colleen, Meighan, Duncan, Caitlyn, Michael, Niamh, Mary, Deirdre, Clare, Ciara, Maura, Brendan, Colleen, Oula and Sarah; and special friend Cecilia Carandang. We give thanks to the following friends for their loving and considerate acts that brought great comfort to Patrick and the Maguire Family during the past weeks: Mary Clare, Maurice and Catherine Fitzgerald, Bill Furlong, Paddy Whelan, Ted Baker, Rick Olsen, Terry Miller, Dianne Brown and Tony Perry. We are deeply grateful to Drs. Chaudry, Brown and Geddes, and all the team of Unit 57 (Bone Marrow Transplant) of the Tom Baker Cancer Centre for your dedication, kindness and compassion to Patrick and our entire family. Patrick fought like a champion to the very end, and his deep faith and life force are an inspiration to us all. In lieu of flowers please feel free to make a donation to a charity of your choice or commit an act of kindness in Pat's memory. Cremation will take place in Alberta. Patrick will be waked at his brother Michael's home at 171 Marine Drive in Logy Bay from 2 to 6 PM on Sunday 4 May. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X at 9:30 AM on Monday 5 May, followed by burial in Culls Harbour on the same day. God gave us memory so that we might have roses in December.
