Alphonsus Turner

Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick's Mercy home in St. John's on May 3, Alphonsus Turner of St. Brendan's, Bonavista Bay in his 84th year. He was predeceased by wife Margaret (nee Brown), parents William and Martina, brothers Louis, Abraham, Dennis and sisters Nellie (Mackey), Kathleen (Broderick), Ann (Ricketts), Mary (Canning) and Margaret (Ricketts). He leaves to mourn sister-in-law Mary Ann Turner of Buchans, one special cousin Mary Ann Hogan in Toronto, thirty six nieces and nephews, and a large circle of relatives and friends. The family acknowledges with deep appreciation the care that was given for three years by the staff of Baywatch Manor in Glovertown and in recent months by the staffs of James Peyton Memorial Hospital, Gander, the Health Sciences Complex, Hoyles Escasoni, and St. Patrick's Mercy Home in St. John's. The remains will be resting at Caul's Funeral Home on Lemarchant Road in St. John's. Viewing will be 7-9 p.m. on Sunday , May 4, 2008. Monday May 5, 2008 3:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. at St. Gabriel's. Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at St. Gabriel's Church, St. Brendan's, interment to follow at St. Gabriel's Catholic Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Alphonsus memory may be made to St. Gabriel's Parish.
