The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, with her loving family at her side, on Friday, February 6, 2009, of Mary Gallant, of Water Street, Summerside, aged 81 years. Born in Mont Carmel, she was the daughter of the late John and Marie Anne (Cormier) Richard. Survived by her husband Abel Gallant; daughters Rita (Alphonse) Arsenault, Urbainville; Erma (Leo) Gallant, Mont Carmel; Claudette (Melvin) Gallant, Mont Carmel; Simone, Phyllis and Yvonne all of Summerside; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters Margaret Richard, Edna Arsenault; brothers Albert and Antoine (Denise) Richard; sister-in-law Ann (Ben) Sonier, Summerside; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by granddaughter Cindy Gallant; brothers Gus and Frank Richard and by a sister, Louise Gallant. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Tuesday, then to St. Paul’s Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 2:30 p.m. Interment later in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside.
