DAVIS, Mary (McGrath) – Passed peacefully away on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at the Palliative Care Unit of the Miller Centre, aged 91 years, Mary Davis of Fox Harbour, formerly of Argentia. Mary is predeceased by her husband Michael, her daughter Margaret, her parents James and Mary Ellen, her sisters Ida O’Leary, Clara Roach, Margaret McGrath, Catherine McGrath and Cecilia Duke, and her brothers John and Richard. Left with fond and loving memories are her children Sister Elizabeth, Mary Ellen (Ken) Dominie, Jim (Doreen), Rose, Mike (Jackie), Dick (Karen) and Bill (Stella); her grandchildren Stephen, Alan, Heather, Kathleen, Ryan, Victoria, Valerie, Laura, Michael, Ellen, Margaret and Katharine and her great-grandchildren Frankie and Madeline; her sisters Matilda Howard and Ann McGrath; her brother James; her sisters-in-law Mary (Mel) Mowbray and Veronica Davis; her brother-in-law Francis Duke, and a large circle of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Resting at Maher’s Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation on Monday, February 9 from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, February 10 from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, February 11 at 11 a.m. from Sacred Heart Church, Fox Harbour. Interment to follow at the Fox Harbour Cemetery. Mary leaves the legacy of a life of intense faith, deep love for family, a great gift for teaching, compassionate care for her neighbour, and boundless wisdom.
