Alan Bordon Murphy, 65, of Truro, passed away Monday, May 5, 2008 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in North West Cove, he was a son of the late Bordon and Margaret (McCready) Murphy. Alan was a member of Local 615 Labours Union, working for R. A. Douglas for 30 plus years and retiring from Lindsay’s where he worked on many projects here in Truro under Donet, Steve and Greg. He is survived by his wife Linda; daughter Michelle (James) Kelly, Truro; son Michael (Jennifer Wylie) Murphy of Alberta; grandchildren, Ashley and Matthew Kelly; brother Charles, Bakers Settlement. He was predeceased by a brother Raymond; sister-in-law Linda. No visitation by family request. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 10 at 3 p.m. in Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro with Rev. Gary Yetman officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
