Barbara Ann “Barb” Davy (Boyd), 61, Stewiacke, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born March 28, 1947 in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Leslie and Rebecca (Patterson) Boyd. Barb was a hairdresser for most of her life and worked at various salons and was also self employed. Most recently, she worked at Louis Good Used Clothing, Truro. She loved to cook, was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and flowers. Barb is survived by her loving companion of six years, Gilbert Lawrence Yantha; step-mother, Victoria “Vicki” Boyd, Belmont; sisters, Heather Boyd-Kinnie (Bruce), Fredericton; Janet Leblanc, Lower Sackville; brother, Donald “Don” (Janet) Boyd, Truro; niece, Mary Beth Boyd, Truro; nephews, Ian Boyd, Truro; Thomas Kinnie, Fredericton. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro, where Barb’s family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 18 and where the funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19, Pastor Doug Campbell officiating.
