Elsie Irene (Frizzell) Archibald, 80, Bible Hill, passed away peacefully at Townsview Estates Residential Care Facility on Sunday, July 15, 2007. Born in Bible Hill, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Lillian Frizzell. She was raised with her family on the campus of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College. During the latter part of the second World War, she attended Mount St. Bernard College in Antigonish. In l948 she married Vernon Wallace Archibald and together they enjoyed 50 years of marriage. She worked for the Nova Scotia Justice System as a court reporter at the Shubenacadie Court. She loved her family above all else and enjoyed nature, animals and her special Jack Russell dog, Bella. Elsie is survived by children, Daniel Mark (Linda) Truro; Stephen Kent, Olds AB; Patricia Jane Healy (Stephen), Kentville; and Mary Ann Archibald, Halifax; nine grandchildren, Mark, Michael, Rebecca, Jonathan, Heather, David, Jennifer, Jessica, Stephen and three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Sophie, Elias; step-mother Laura Frizzell; brothers Wilber, Jerome; sisters Dorothy Leroy, Beverly Rath, Audrey Tysiake, Colleen MacAlloon, Patricia Frizzell, and Shannon Sodero. She was predeceased by husband Vernon; granddaughter Jennifer Lynn; sister Louise MacKay; brothers Leo and Stephen Frizzell. No visitation by family request. Funeral mass will take place Thursday, July l9, l2 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 669 Prince St., Truro with reception and interment to follow. Family flowers only.
