Alex R. MacLellan, Truro, formerly of Fairview, passed away at the Colchester Regional Hospital Dec. 23, 2007. Born in Broad Cove, Inverness County, Cape Breton he was a son of the late Donald and Catherine (MacKinnon) MacLellan, Broad Cove. At an early age Alex left Broad Cove and moved to Halifax. Alex was employed with the City of Halifax unit his retirement. In his pastime he enjoyed the horse races both in Lower Sackville and Truro. He is survived by his two sisters, Theresa Doyle, Inverness, Kaye (Richard) Gear, Trenton, Michigan; sister-in-law, Lillian MacLellan, Truro; nieces, Katherine (Glen) Kaye, Truro, Anne (Pat) Coakley, Trenton, Michigan, Donalda (Andy) Fougere, Halifax, Elaine Doyle, Inverness, Linda (Harold) Chandler, Whycocomagh; nephews, Vincent (Joan) MacLellan, Truro, Greg (Ruthy) Doyle, Inverness, John Doyle, Edmonton, John Gear, Trenton, Michigan, Richard Gear, Trenton, Michigan; many grand-nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Margaret (Fergus) Seniski, Trenton, Michigan; brother Allan, Truro; three siblings in infancy. Visitation will be held 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2007 in Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Benedict Parish, 8 Melody Dr., corner of Mount St. Vincent University Campus, Halifax.
