Ambrose Elliot "Bud" O'Connor. It is with sadness in our hearts that we had to say goodbye to a wonderful husband, father, and friend on Feb. 21, 2008. Ambrose Elliot "Bud" O'Connor of Truro passed away suddenly, at the age of 80, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Halifax with Dolores, his loving wife of 51 years, by his side. Bud was a 25-year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces having proudly served as a peacekeeper for his country in Korea, Germany and Cypress. He was a longstanding member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Winnipeg, Guysborough, and Truro, as well as a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Truro and of St. Ann's Parish in Guysborough. Bud is also survived by his daughter Darlene, her husband Ray, and son Dan, and his wife Suzan. His surviving siblings are Charles Douglas "Chuckie," Lawrence Joseph, and Mary. Bud was predeceased by his parents Guy Francis O'Connor and Emma Catherine (Cunningham) O'Connor, and his 12 other siblings, including Robert Francis, Hilda Margaret, Louis Edmond, Lawrence, Guy Patrick, John Golbert, James Bernard, Raphael Tompkins, Veronica Bridget, William David, Kenneth Leo, and Annabelle. Funeral mass will be held at St. Ann's Parish in Guysborough on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 11 a.m., Father Jonathan officiating. Burial will follow at St. Ann's cemetery in Guysborough.
