Anthony John Edward “Tony” Wellings, 69, of Brookfield. It is with great sadness the family of Anthony “Tony” John Edward Wellings announce his passing on Jan. 17, 2009, at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in England, he was a son of the late John and Hilda Wellings. He worked as a plumber for all of his working life, emigrating to Canada in 1969 with his wife and daughter. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Air Force Club, where he always enjoyed playing darts. Tony is survived by his wife, Carole (Carpenter); daughter, Tracey (Brian) Crowell, Beaverbrook; son, Mark (Debbie Saulnier) Wellings, Petawawa, Ont.; grandchildren, Mitchell, Makayla and Raine; sister, Marion Bodger, England; brother, Peter Wellings, England; one niece and one nephew; and also special friends Cynthia and John Matthews. There will be no visitation by request. A Royal Canadian Legion Branch #26 tribute service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 7 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro.
