Betty Marie Wyllie, 79, Truro, passed away peacefully Nov. 6, 2008 with her loving daughters by her side at home. Born Dec. 16, 1928 in Half Island Cove, Guysborough County, she was a daughter of the late Elias and Kathleen Hendsbee. Betty is survived by daughters Gail Wyllie, Liz (Lawrence) Jobb, both of Truro; Margie (Jeff) Clarke, Ottawa; grandchildren Danielle Geddes, Ryan and Brad Jobb, Jeffrey, Cody and Victoria Clarke; great-grandchildren Aaron, Olivia, Malaysha and Kassey; brothers Leo, Harvey and Reg; sisters Gertie, Rachael and Edna; many loving nephews and nieces. Betty was predeceased by her husband Max in 1978 and sisters Esther and Berdina. Betty was happiest at her cottage in Marshville with her family and was a volunteer with the Colchester Regional Hospital Ladies Auxiliary until her health became poor. She will be sadly missed by her family which was always her pride and joy. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 9 from 7 to 9 p.m.; funeral service on Monday, Nov. 10 at 2:00 pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Pastor Henry Boehm officiating. Interment in Folly Village Cemetery, Glenholme. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
