Denzil Taze DeVouge, 87, Truro, passed away peacefully on Sept. 4, 2008 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Gaspe`, Quebec, he was a son of the late Leslie and Ruby (Leggo) DeVouge. Denzil began his career as an automotive mechanic which he followed, earning his Class A level of achievement working on diesel engines, trains and ships until his retirement. He was truly a master of his trade. His greatest passion was his fiddle and his unique style of entertainment. He was a wonderful father who devoted himself to his family and friends. He is survived by his daughters Daphen DeVouge, Toronto, Laurel (Jim) MacIntosh, Bible Hill; son Dana (Darline), Niagara Falls; grandchildren Seth and Rebecca MacIntosh; sisters Leona (Larry) Garrett, Vermont; brother Cyril (Edna), St. Regis, Quebec; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife Ina Gwendoline (Leggo); son Peter, in infancy; brothers Herzil and Glen; son-in-law Frank Bianchi. Visitation will be held Sunday, Sept. 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro; funeral service on Monday, Sept. 8 at 10 a.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 183 Waller Dr., Truro. Interment in Bible Hill Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.
