Donald “Don” Edward Wynn, 81, of Hilden, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, in the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Murray Duncan and Mary “Mamie” (McNutt) Wynn. Don was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas with the Canadian Armed Forces. He was a former employee of Stanfield’s Ltd. Truro, where he had worked for over 44 years. Don was also a 52-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 26, Truro. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and cards, especially crib. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Don is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth “Betty” Lockhart; son, Terry (Anna), Upper Musquodoboit; special nieces, Jill and Darlene; special nephew, David. Don was predeceased by sisters, Gladys and Vera; brothers, Fred and Bernard. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Mattatall Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro. No visitation or flowers by request. A graveside service and interment will be held at a later date, time to be announced, in the Hilden Cemetery, Hilden, with Rev. Dan Gunn officiating.
