Edna Daisy O’Connell, 76, Truro It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of our dear mother on Dec. 8, 2008 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born July 11, 1932 in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Laura (Jean)(Crowell) MacPhee. She is survived by her children Lewis and Brenda O’Connell, Marion and Sam Works, Sherry and Jeff MacDonald, Frances and Ted Weatherbee; grandchildren Chris (Karen), Tim (Angie), Aaron O’Connell, Stacey (Rodney) Works-Brenton, John MacDonald, Nicholas and Jared Weatherbee; great-grandsons Jeremy, Samuel and Joshua O’Connell; brothers Don, Percy (Shirley), Alfred MacPhee; sisters Sharon (John) McNutt, Yulla “Bobbie” Weatherbee. She was predeceased by her husband in 1989, Fraser “Fay” O’Connell; daughter Cindy Marie in infancy; granddaughter in infancy Tracey Dawn Works; brother Gerald; sister Olive May. Mom was a wonderful homemaker who took great pride in having a spotless home. She was also an awesome cook, her pies would melt in your mouth. Mom had a heart of gold and always felt compassion for those in time of need. She loved music and had a great sense of humour. Even throughout her illness she would laugh a lot. She loved children and was especially happy when her grandchildren came to visit. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 10 from 7 to 9 p.m.; funeral services on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 3 p.m., both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, Rev. Greg Porter officiating. Spring interment in Riverside Cemetery, Upper Stewiacke. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory made to the Alzheimers Society of Nova Scotia would be gratefully appreciated.
