Elizabeth Grace (Henderson) Lynds, 70, of Valley, Colchester County. With great sadness we announce Elizabeth’s passing at home, Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Camden, she was a daughter of the late Matthew Thomas and Ella (Miller) Henderson. She is survived by her loving husband Claude, of 47 years; son Kevin (Sharon Barron), Valley; daughters Gwen (Gordon) Cook, Debert; Darlene, Onslow; grandchildren Damian, Matthew and Ashley Cook; brother-in-law Seldon Reid; sister-in-law Vera Henderson; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by sisters Rhoda Dean, Jean Reid; brothers Parker Henderson, Clyde Henderson; brothers-in-law Richard Jennings, Blackie Dean; sisters-in-law Elma Henderson, Mary Henderson; nieces and nephews. In her early years, Elizabeth worked at the Lewis Hat Factory in Truro. She loved knitting, music and dancing. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro. Visitation will be held 7 to 9 p.m. today, Aug. 23, and funeral service 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, Rev. Brian DeLong officiating, with reception to follow, all to take place at the funeral home. Interment will then be held in the Crossroads Cemetery, Valley. Family flowers only.
