ALEXANDRINE DELHOMMEAU Alexandrine Delhommeau, age 94, of Mont St. Joseph Nursing Home, passed away at the home on Saturday, March 29, 2008. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1st from Mont St. Joseph Nursing Home Chapel, 777 - 28 Street East. Father Clifford Tremblay will officiate. Alexandrine was born at White Star, SK on January 13, 1914 to Henri and Marie (nee Hamonic) Delhommeau. She attended White Star school which was near the family farm. After completing her schooling, she remained at home to help her parents on the farm for a few years. In 1942 she was employed as an assistant nurse at the Sanitarium in Prince Albert. During the war she went to work for Canada Cars in Fort William. When the war ended, Alexandrine took a sewing course at Madeline Sewing School in Saskatoon and was later employed at St. Paul's Hospital making uniforms for the nurses. In 1956 she returned to the Sanitarium where she worked until the closing of the facility. When North Park Centre opened in the same location, Alex was hired as a group activity aide where she worked until her retirement in 1979. After retirement, Alexandrine spent her leisure time helping at the CWL Thrift Shop at Sacred Heart Cathedral, bowling and spending time at the lakes. She enjoyed arts, crafts, painting and spent many happy hours at her hobbies. Alexandrine was very devoted to her Church and was always willing to help when needed. She spent the last several years with the kind and caring staff of Mont St. Joseph Nursing Home and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them for the excellent care they gave her. Alexandrine is survived by her sister Marie (Mike) Bundon of Saskatoon; her sister-in-law Blanche Delhommeau and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Henri and Marie; her brother Henri; her sisters Henriette Godin and Angela Regnier; her brothers-in-law Elphage Godin and Henry Regnier. It is the family's request that those wishing to place memorials in Alexandrine's memory may do so to the Mont St. Joseph Foundation. Interment will take place in the Garden of Gethsemane, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may send email condolences to www.riverparkfuneral.ca.
