KARDASH - Mrs. Annie Kardash, age 96. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and "Baba". Annie passed away peacefully at the Herb Bassett Home in Prince Albert Sask. on April 2nd, 2008. Annie was born on March 2nd, l912 in Vonda, Sask. She was the 6th of 10 children born to Andre and Eudocia (Yaworski) Danylchuk. At an early age she moved to Saskatoon. In 1929 she married Peter Kardash. They lived in Saskatoon till 1938, when they moved to Prince Albert. Peter and Annie were blessed with four children, eight grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. Annie was a long time member of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church. She loved her church and did alot of embroidery to beautify the church, plus helped with the catering for church functions and funerals. For many years she was in charge of the Ladies Ukrainian Embroidery Circle. She was well known for her Ukrainian embroidery and from 1964 to 1989 had it exhibited at the Prince Albert Exhibition, for which she received many ribbons and prizes. She also liked to knit Afghans and make patch work quilts. Mother loved her house, garden, flowers, and her raspberries, which she always shared with her family and neighbors. She loved to cook and we will miss her fresh bread, cabbage rolls, perogies, and Ukrainian Easter eggs. when she became ill she missed all the above and said so often. Mom and dad ran a concession at the old curling rink. Later they operated a concession at the Prince Albert Exhibition. Many people will remember her for her domestic work. She worked hard for many prominent people and loved working for them. Mom belonged to Parkland Senior Citizens Club and enjoyed their outings, card parties, and fellowship. She went on numerous bus trips with them. She loved playing cards, bingo, and travel. She visited dad's family in Ukraine and Russia, also traveled to Florida, South Dakota, Maritimes, Seattle, plus prairie provinces. While in Ukraine she visited the house where her husband was born and her mother-in-laws grave. She was very caring and loving towards her family and many friends. She always put everyone's needs before her own. She never missed a birthday, anniversary or special occasion and always had a gift for every member of her family. Annie is survived by her daughter, Marie Eschyshyn, and daughter in law, Joan Kardash of Prince Albert, her son George (Louise) of Castlegar B.C., grandchildren David (Nancy) Evan, Jaime, Ashely Eschyshyn of Calgary Alberta, Kenneth (Marilyn), Dylan and Kristin Eschyshyn of Edmonton, Alberta., Karen (Pete) Kalesnikoff, Gina- Ashley Lane Kardash, Peter (Jen) Eric and Alexia Kardash all of Castlegar, B.C., Tonya Kardash of Prince Albert, SK., Nikki (Dave) Amanda and Alexis Puets of Emma Lake SK., David (Leslie) Jordan, Meaghan and Eric Oakley of Teulon, Man., sister Katie Kowalchuck of Edmonton, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by: Husband Peter in 1969, son Mike, infant daughter Doreen, father and mother Andre and Eudocia (Yaworski) Danylchuck, son in law Edward Eschyshyn, brothers Metro, Tony, Walter, John and Steve, sisters Polly Remanda, Mary Koenning, and Nettie Hryciuk, plus sister and brother in laws in Canada and Stari Kuty, Ukraine. Prayer Service Sunday, April 6th, 2008 at 7:30 PM - Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Prince Albert SK. Funeral Monday, April 7th, 2008 at 2:00 PM - Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Prince Albert, SK. Celebrant - Reverend Father Michael Lomaszkiewicz. Interment in South Hill Cemetery. Arrangements in care of MacKenzie Funeral Home.
