Augustin Guedo Augustin Guedo passed away at Pineview Nursing Home on April 2, 2008 at the age of 96 years. He was born to Barb & Joseph Guedo on March 11, 1912 in White Star. He was predeceased by his parents Barb & Joseph Guedo, his sister Jeanette and her husband Marcel Poudrier, sister Josephine and her husband Oscar Haugen, sister Annette and her husband Ben Christianson and his nephew Eugene Poudrier. He is survived by his sister Henriette and her husband Jules LaHaye and numerous nieces and nephews. August lived his entire life in the Prince Albert region except during the war years when in 1936 he joined the French Army as was posted to the Artillery Division in France. After France surrendered he was demobilized in Vichy France. He made his way back to Canada via Casablanca, North Africa, Martenique and New York. On his return to Canada he went to Edmonton and joined the RCAF. We can only imagine the adventures during this time. After the war he resumed farming in the Red Wing district and lived in the family farm home until he was 95 years old. He finally admitted he needed help and lived in Pineview Nursing Home until his death. The family would like to thank Dr. Harris & his staff, Palliative Care at the Victoria Hospital and to Pineview Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to August. Friends & family are invited to attend a short memorial service on Wednesday, April 9th at MacKenzie Funeral Home, 130 - 9th Street East, Prince Albert. Interment will follow at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations can be made in memory of the deceased to Pineview Nursing Home.
