Leonard Earl Munro

Leonard Earl Munro, born in Duval, SK April 21, 1915. Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife of 69 years Isabel. His children Gary (Gladys) Munro of Calgary, AB; Anne (Keith) James of Prince Albert, SK. His grandchildren Debbie (Wally) Niblett of Edmonton, AB; Cheryl (Fabian) Rush of Edmonton, AB; Robert (Shannon) James of Sherwood Park, AB; Tyler (Michelle) James of Edmonton, AB; Andrew (Kristi) James of Saskatoon, SK. His Great Grandchildren Amanda & Kerri Niblett, Alex & Samantha Rush, Keisha & Cole James and Jessica & Nicole James. His sister Jen Hanson of Calgary, AB. Len was pre-deceased by his father Jacob, mother Ester and brothers James and Orville. Len moved to Prince Albert in 1937 and married Isabel McComb in 1938. He and his father opened J. Munro & Sons Implements Ltd. selling Case machinery. In 1952 they took on the Studebaker dealership until 1966 when they owned the Datson Franchise, later to be known as Munro Nissan Ltd. Len and Isabel enjoyed the 40's, 50's and 60's at their shack tent in Waskesiu moving to Candle Lake in 1968, where they spent many enjoyable hours playing cards with their friends. Len was active in the Cosmopolitan Club of Prince Albert. He was a loyal Raider fan, listening to every game when he was unable to attend. Len spent his last two years in Pineview Terrace Lodge where he received kind and loving care. Len will be remembered by his family for his unconditional love and support. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, 1:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 130 - 9th St. East, 306-763-8488. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Pineview Family Auxiliary.
