FIDLER - Dennis John June 2, 1943 - April 16, 2008 It is with great sorrow and sadness that the family of Dennis John Fidler of Prince Albert, announce that on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 their father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away from this world at the age of 64. He was born on June 2, 1943 in Kinistino and was raised north of there in the Horseshoe Bend District. Dennis had an array of careers throughout his life ranging from a school bus driver, to a heavy equipment operator throughout Saskatchewan and British Columbia. He also drove semi-truck for a number of years. He received his journeyman's welding ticket in Prince Albert and soon began his welding career at the Prince Albert Foundry, followed by a long term position with Precision Service and Engineering. Lastly, he continued working as a welder with the Department of Highways. He was looking forward to his retirement in June, 2008. Throughout his life, he made many life long friendships. One of Dennis' greatest passions in life was his worship and involvement in St. Albans' Cathedral. There he too formed many friendships, as he served on the Cathedral's corporation and was the Sidesmens Chair person, a duty which he proudly served. His talented gift of being a skilled welder is visible and lasting throughout Prince Albert, the Cathedral and Glen Mary Epiphany Church. However, for Dennis there was no greater or valued gift on earth than his family. Time spent with his parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, particularly his children and most of all his three incredible grandchildren, Joshua, Brae-Lynn and Jordyn, as all of his family meant the world to him. Dennis is survived by his children's mother Linda Fidler and their children Lori-Ann (Alex) Tkatchuk, Darren (Joele) Fidler, Lacy Fidler and Larissa Fidler; his grandchildren Joshua and Brae-Lynn Tkatchuk and Jordyn Fidler all of Prince Albert, SK; his sisters Jeanette (Neal) Brackhan of Prince Albert, SK and Mary (Lorne) Milligan of Holbein, SK; his brothers Leslie (Bev) of Port Coquitlam, BC and Robert (Marion) of Quesnel, BC. and as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Dennis was predeceased by his parents Douglas and Susan Fidler; his grandparents Robert and Nancy Cook and John and Eliza Fidler. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, #1, 2217 Hanselman Court, Saskatoon, SK S7L 9Z9. A public visitation will be held from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Gray's Funeral Chapel, 575 - 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK.
