BLAIR - John Leonard "Len" June 19, 1922 - April 22, 2008 John "Leonard" Blair was born in Red Deer, AB to Sanford and Bertha Blair on June 19, 1922. A brother for Charles, Kenneth, Joyce, Mae, Jean, Margaret and later followed by Francis. Leonard grew up on a dairy farm and at an early age learned to help with farm chores. This early experience was good training for all the many building and handyman know how that prepared him for the ministry he was called to as a young man. Leonard attended public school in Red Deer and later went to Canadian Nazarene College for high school and ministerial education. He felt God's call for service on his life at an early age and set about to prepare himself for this "High Calling:". To Leonard no task was to lowly nor to high or difficult for him to tackle. The same applied to his relationships - no one was to lowly or to grand to be a friend of Leonard's. "Len" was a preacher, a teacher, a carpenter, a gardener, a painter, a photographer, artist, musician, etc., but most of all a loving husband, a patient father, a dearly loved grandpa, a devoted Christian, a friend in all seasons. Len is survived by his loving wife Devessa (Lyons) Blair; his devoted daughter Brenda (Kenneth) Ardrey, grandchildren David (Heather), Ken Ardrey, Ryan, Jonathon and Christina Ardrey; a caring son David (Lori) Blair and grandson Cory, his sister Francis (Bud) Cunningham; numerous cousins and in-laws and fellow pastors and people of the church and community. He was predeceased by his parents Sanford and Bertha Blair; two brother Charlie and Kenneth; sisters Joyce Blair (missionary to Belize), Mae (Claude) Brennan, Jean (Frank) Couves, Margaret Blair and by his loving wife Barbara (Cogger) Blair. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2008 from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm at Gray's Funeral Chapel, 575 - 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Prince Albert Family Church, 540 - 1st Avenue East, Prince Albert, SK, with Pastor Gregg Rustulka officiating. Interment will be at the Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
