REDEKOPP - Corney A. September 16, 1936 - December 16, 2008 Surrounded by his children, Corney Redekopp passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at the Victoria Hospital. He is lovingly remembered by his children Gerry (Lucien) Fournier & their children Jason (Paula) Fournier, Michelle (Brad) Wilton, Lisa (Kris) Krueger & Jacalyn Fournier; Dwayne (Darla) Redekopp & their children Derek Redekopp & Danica (Adam) Shoffner; Julie (Scott) Siemens & their children Rachel Siemens & Kelsey Siemens. Corney is also lovingly remembered by his only remaining sibling, a very special sister Betty Unger; his aunt Annie Ethier as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Dad was predeceased by the love of his life and his best friend Stella Redekopp in 1999; his parents Elizabeth and Abram; as well as a brother George and two sisters Sadie and Anetta. Dad started his working career at the age of 14 helping his father operate the Laird Ferry, then took over the operation of the Cecil Ferry in 1962. He remained there until he and his family moved to Prince Albert in 1976. Dad then began his second career as a steam engineer for the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, Rivier Academy. In addition to his wife and family, Dad's great loves were his home church, Prince Albert Alliance Church, his ministry with the Gideons, helping family, friends and neighbours, the countless hours he spent fishing and hunting and his little cabin at Candle Lake. The family wishes to thank the staff of Palliative Care at the Victoria Hospital for their grace and compassion towards our Dad in his last days. In keeping with Dad's passion of seeing God's word distributed throughout the world, in lieu of other tributes, the family requests donations be made to the Gideons. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 22, 2008 at the Prince Albert Alliance Church, 2777 - 6th Avenue West, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Ron Goerzen officiating.
