KORNISKI - Victoria (nee Miazga) November 20, 1925 - January 13, 2009 It is with great sadness that the families of Victoria announce her passing on January 13, 2009. Victoria will be lovingly remembered by her brothers Elmer (Dianna) Miazga of Prince Albert and Joe (Stella) Miazga of Gronlid; her sisters Sophie (Peter) Zelensky of Prince Albert, Mary Anseth of Saskatoon and Pat (Ken) Carlson of Gronlid; sister-in-law Josie Miazga; brothers-in-law Bill Rogerson and Jack Sturby; Blanche Hanson and many nieces, nephews and relatives. She was predeceased by her husband Paul; her parents Walter and Ann Miazga (nee Wachniak); her step dad Joe Mroz; her brothers Andrew (Victoria), Martin (Ann), Adam, Harry, Aloyne and Mathew (Marlene) and her sisters Esther (Nick) Korniski, Helen Rogerson and Carol Sturby and brother-in-law Duane Anseth. Victoria and her husband Paul left the farm in 1949 and they moved to Saskatoon, where she was employed at the Fish and Chip Shop on 2nd Avenue until 1965. For the next twenty years she was employed at St. Pauls Hospital in dietary. She was very creative and became proficient at making jelly salad molds. She retired and moved to Prince Albert to be closer to family when Paul passed on in 1985. Her brother Elmer so graciously helped her for some 23 years, spending many mornings over a pot of coffee reminiscing with Victoria. Ill health took her from her home and she just recently became a resident at Nelson's Care Home. Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2009 at Gray's Funeral Chapel, 575 - 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Mrs. Margaret Ferchuck officiating. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church, 581 - 9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Reverend Father Francis Agbezuge. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Saskatoon. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 - 3rd Avenue N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.
