KALYN - William "John" May 9, 1958 - January 19, 2009 John Kalyn was born on May 9, 1958 in Prince Albert, SK and passed away on January 19, 2009 at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK. John started schooling in Paddockwood until the family moved to Uranium City, where John was involved in hockey and ball. Following his education he obtained employment at the store in Uranium City until moving to Saskatoon, Humboldt and then to Prince Albert where he obtained employment at Foodland. John was a hard worker, often working more than one job. His positive attitude was an inspiration to all that knew him. John enjoyed spending time with his family, but especially with his two granddaughters. John will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Alexis of Saskatoon, SK; his two granddaughters Zoey and Phoebe; his parents Bill and Jane Kalyn of Paddockwood, SK; his siblings Karen (Wayne) Piesinger of Lashburn, SK, Warren (Monica) of Thompson, MB and Roxanne (Ken) Hagel of Hitchcock, SK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives. He was predeceased by his grandparents Earl and Norma McCalmon and Mike and Helen Kalyn and his uncles and aunt Hugh, Ronald and Glen McCalmon, Mike and John Kalyn and Sophie (Mat) Gulka. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Charity of Donor's Choice. Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2009 at Gray's Funeral Chapel, 575 - 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with officiant Pastor Dennis Serfas, Director Spiritual Care, Prince Albert Parkland Health Region.
