LILLIE LEE June 24, 1912 - January 28, 2009 A tender and loving heart peacefully stopped beating with family by her side on January 28, 2009 at 96 years old. At the time of her passing, she was in the care of the Herb Bassett Home in Prince Albert. Mom was born in the Lake Park district, near Birch Hills, Saskatchewan. She and Dad farmed in that area, and in 1984 they moved to Prince Albert. In 2001 they moved into Abbeyfield House where she resided until May 2007. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Thordis (John) Kamp of Carstairs, AB, Lois (Henry) Hanson of Christopher Lake and Ivadel (Mel) Johns of Saskatoon; grandchildren Lisa Kamp, Todd (Jeanette) Hanson, Rhonda (Doug Evans) Cutting, Pam (Greg McCullagh) Hanson, Rick (Ann) Johns and Kirby (Jacque) Johns; great-grandchildren Arthur Kamp, Claire and Kate Hanson, Ryan and Tamara Cutting, Cadence and Chloe Johns and Easton and Jada Johns; her sister Helen (Lorne) Baily of rural Birch Hills, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ole in 2002; an infant daughter Betty Ann; her parents Chris and Tabitta Salen; sisters Thelma (Ted) Ravndal, Cora (Bjarne) Stangeland and her brother Reider (Margaret) Salen. Mom took her schooling at Lake Park and Outlook College. Her life was centered around her home and family. She liked to garden and especially loved flowers. She enjoyed music, often playing the piano for her own enjoyment. She also played guitar in her younger years. She thoroughly enjoyed her trips to Norway, the homeland of her parents, to visit her relatives and also dad's family. Mom often expressed thankfulness for all of the blessings in her life. Her Christian faith and beliefs were strong. The family wishes to thank Judy West of Abbeyfield House for the wonderful years Mom lived there as well as to the staff of Golden Hill at the Herb Bassett Home for the excellent care. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Lake Park Baptist Church, Birch Hills, SK with Pastor Len Barkman officiating. Interment will be held at Lake Park Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Lake Park Baptist Church near Birch Hills or the Abbeyfield House in Prince Albert.
